Hi Team, we would like to inquire the maximum allowable length of the coaxial cable that can be supported.
Thank you.

Hi Mark,
The DS90UB913A is capable of driving up to 15 meters of coaxial cable or 20 meters of STP cable.
Regards,
Nick
Hi Nick,
After Finishing BIST, we know BIST ERROR COUNT through 0x25 (register in Deserialize board)
It is fine at 100Mhz(BIST Clock source) in 5Meter Coax cable environment
But It is fail at 100Mhz(BIST Clock source) in 15Meter Coax cable environment.
In the case, The ERROR COUNT is 0xff(MAX count) after only 20sec.
Hoping for your additional inputs.
Hello Mark,
The guideline above from Nick on cable length assumes low loss cable such as Dacar 302 for coax. Can you share what cable type you are using here for this test? Also, for testing link quality, especially over the longer distances, it is recommended to use the external system clock instead of the internally generated (higher jitter) clock. So please provide a PCLK or CLKIN input to the 913A (based on the operating mode that you are intending to use for this test) and operate the BIST mode with PCLK as the source.
Best Regards,
Casey
