Hi,

I want to get the CAN FD function using TCAN4550-Q1 with the MCU which doesn't have CAN FD function. Is that possible?

    Hi Kevin,

    Yes, TCAN4550 has a fully integrated CAN FD controller and transceiver. This allows any MCU that supports SPI to interface with a CAN bus with CAN FD data frames. All of the CAN protocol is handled by the TCAN4550 so no CAN controller is required on the MCU itself.
