DS90CF383: New device to DS90CF383

Hi Team, 

My customer used DS90CF383 before. Customer wants to know if there is newer device? 

I do see DS90C241 and DS90C185 on TI.com. 

Which do you recommend? 

Usage : MCU -> DEVICE -> LCD DISPLAY

    Hi Jo,

    This depends on the details of your application. The DS90C241 has a lower range of supported PCLK than both the DS90CF383 and DS90C185. So if the PCLK being used exceeds 35MHz, I would recommend the DS90CF185.

    I recommended DS90CF185 to customer and he wants to know the difference between DS90CF185 and DS90CF383, could you help provide the comparison table? I tried to create comparison table on TI.com but I couldn't find DS90CF383 so I was not able to create it by my own. 

    Besides, I see DS90CF383B seems an enhanced version of DS90CF383, but the temp range is -10C~70C, do TI have other device having wider temp range and function similar to DS90CF383? Customer is looking for newer device that is cheaper and smaller than DS90CF383.

    Hi Jo,

    The DS90C241 has a temperature range of -40 - 105C, however both the DS90C185 and DS90CF383B have a smaller range, as you have said. I can help to make a difference chart, however it may be better to use the DS90CF383B, as it is intended to replace the DS90CF383A anyway. Other similar devices such as the SN75LVDS83B also have a lower temperature range.
