Hi team,
I'd like to clarify about the DSP_FFE_CFG datasheet description.
Is it recommended to set FFE_EQ to "10 1000 0001" if the cable length is <=1m?
Also, is it OK to use FFE_EQ="10 1000 0001" when the cable length is >1m?
Regards,
Itoh

Hello Kazuki Itoh
Thank you for the query. Please see below
Certain applications may need this register to be configured to 0x0E81 to improve Short Cable performance. Changing this register to 0x0E81, will not effect Long Cable performance.

Hi Sreenivasa-san,
What do you mean by certain application? Is it <1m cable application?
Does long cable performance mean >1m cable performance?
I just want to clarify how to set the register according to the cable length.

Itoh
Hello Itoh.
Thank you for the reply.
Changing this register to 0x0E81, will not effect Long Cable performance. So it should be OK to set this register for any length of the cable.
Cables that are shorter than the standard ethernet cable length could be categorized as short cable. Please note that this is a guideline and there are no standard definition for short cable.
