P82B96: Rad hard solution to i2c over long distance

Part Number: P82B96
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-060013

Hello,

This question is related to this one:

https://e2e.ti.com/support/logic-group/logic/f/logic-forum/945194/sn74ahc245-q1-i2c-compatible-bidirectional-bus-transceiver-implementation-using-aec-q100-device-s?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=P82B96#

I'm interested in the discussion regarding a discrete solution for the I2C over CAN reference design (TIDA-060013). In this case, we're looking for a rad hard solution for a space application. Is it possible to discuss this with someone?

Thank you

  • Andre,

It may be difficult to find rad hardened devices for every component in a discrete approach. I know there's only one rad hardened CAN transceiver, SN65HVD233-SEP. I've assigned this to an expert who can help further.

    Regards,

    Eric Hackett

  • Hi Andre,

You can email me at duynguyen@ti.com if you would like to discuss about the I2C over CAN design but space grade qualification isn't something I know much about (not discouraging a discussion around this though as we could try to make something like this happen if we knew the business opportunity and I tried to rope in the right people to see if we could make it happen)
