Hi team
I have a question.
It says that I can set pin 23 (HDMI_SEL) of SN65DP149 to High to enable DVI mode, but what does that change?
Does it remove the audio data, etc. from the TMDS signal?
Thank you.

The DP149 includes the DP-HDMI adaptor ID buffer for HDMI/DVI adaptor recognition. It will not be accessible through the DDC interface when the HDMI_SEL/A1 pin is high.
When the adaptor is not accessible, the HDMI ID code will be returned as 0 and the source will know it needs to be in DVI mode.
Thanks
David
Mr. David.
Thank you for your comment.
I would like to ask you an additional question.
What do you mean by "DP-HDMI adaptor"?
Please let me check.
For example, this IC is mounted on the board of the sink device, and controls the HDMI_SEL port, so that when it is accessed by the Sauce device using the IIC, it can tell the Sauce device whether it is a DVI device or an HDMI device?
Thanks.

Please refer to section 8.5.1 DP-HDMI Adaptor ID Buffer of the DP149 datasheet.
The source will read the HDMI ID Code, and when it reads back as all 0, it will know the DP149 only supports DP++ to DVI.
Thanks
David
Mr. David.
I learned a lot from your teachings.
I found out that what I wanted to do is not possible with DP149.
What I am looking for is an IC that will change the HDMI signal format to a DVI signal format.
Specifically, I want to remove only the data island and guard band of the HDMI signal.
Is there such an IC available from TI or elsewhere?
Thanks.

Unfortunately we do not have a solution that can support this.
Thanks

Mr. David.
Thanks for letting me know.
I will look into another way.
Thank you.
