DP3867ERGZT : Cannot ping on a direct peer-to-peer communication.

Hi TI,

Our customer is using DP3867EGZT for Ethernet. We were able to bring up the PHY in Linux as well as do a successful ping between two systems/devices connected to a switch. But When the SoC is connected directly to the PC Host we are not able to ping the SoC/PC(tried with both cross cable and straight cable) . From the mii-tool we are seeing the Link is ok as well as packets are coming from the Soc to the PC when pinged via the tcp dump,but we don't see packets coming to the SOC when Soc is pinged from PC.

Kindly let us know if we missed any configuration regarding the PHY ?

When the SoC is connected directly to the PC - What to you mean by SOC. can you provide a quick sketch on the connection.

Can you please share the schematics for a quick review.

Sorry for the delayed response. SOC as in Custom Hardware with this PHY . We tried to ping between this Custom H/w and PC. However we solved it by turning of the auto neg in the phy using ethtool and it worked.

it was a typo , its phy instead of pay. We can close this issue.
