TCAN1051H: TCAN1051HGVDR

Part Number: TCAN1051H
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1051

Dear expert,

Customer is planning to make a big switch to use the TCAN1051HGVDR as a replacement from a competitor's TJA1051. They have little knowledge about the die setting of TI's products but understood from their previous buy, the main 1051 should usually be visible on the die.

Please advise if this is the die of TCAN1051HGVDR.

Appreciate your kind assistance.
Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Shawn,

The TCAN1051 die is a revision of the SN65HVDA553 die which we can see in the image you shared. While this marking was not updated on the TCAN1051 revision, I can confirm based on this and the lot trace code that this unit is a TCAN1051HGVDR.

This particular unit looks like it's had a rough time. Has there been any issues with the device unexpectedly failing in certain tests? Or was this testing meant to be destructive? If not, can you please share a higher resolution image of the label information?

    Regards,
    Eric Schott

  • Hi Eric,

The picture shown was a destructive decap done.
They will be moving on to the next step of putting the unused parts on the board for 1st round of testing.

    Thank you for the input.
