PCI2050B: PCI2050BIZHK vs PCI2050BIZWT

Part Number: PCI2050B

Dear Technical Support Team,

Are PCI2050BIZHK and  PCI2050BIZWT same bare chip?

Datasheet has both packages and it seems specs are the same.

  • Hi,

The ZHK is a MicroStar BGATm packaging that were redesigned using a laminate nfBGA package (ZWT). The nfBGA package offers data sheet-equivalent electrical performance and data sheet-equivalent or better thermal performance. It provides the same X and Y dimensions as MicroStar BGA, and provides pin-to-pin and footprint compatibility.

You can see this app note for more detailed information, https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sllz077/sllz077.pdf.

    Thanks

    David

  • Hi David,

Thank you for your reply. I understand that packages and electrical performances are  equivalent or better.

If I replace from PCI2050BIZHK to PCI2050BIZWT, should I test again on my system to see if there is a problem with my application?

If PCI2050BIZHK and PCI2050BIZWT are exactly the same or better, it would be nice to omit the verification.

    Best Regards,

    ttd

  • Hi,

The electrical performance is equivalent between the two packages, so I do not see any performance issue when changing from one package to the next package. But I would still do a limited set of testing just to double check.

    Thanks

    David
