SN65HVD251: Difference between SN65HVD251 and SN65HVD251-Q1

Part Number: SN65HVD251

Dear Specialists,

My customer'd like to know the difference between SN65HVD251 and SN65HVD251-Q1.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

---

When I checked, there were two differences between SN65HVD251 and SN65HVD251-Q1.

(1) The ESD withstand voltage was different.

(2) The truth table of SN65HVD251 describes the state when VRS is open.

On the other hand, not listed in SN65HVD251-Q1.

Can this be considered the same, just not mentioned?

(3) Could you please let us know  if there are any other differences between SN65HVD251 and SN65HVD251-Q1.

---

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hi Shinichi,

There are no functional differences between SN65HVD251 and the automotive Q100 qualified version of the device. The state table here can be considered the same. The two products are subject to different test plans that require the Q1 device to pass with tighter margins. This ensures reliable performance and quality for critical automotive applications. Devices without the Q1 rating are still held at a high standard and conform with datasheet specifications, but may not be as close to typical values over as many operating conditions.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Regards,
    Eric Schott

  • Hi Eric,

    Thank you for your reply.

The customer can consider SN65HVD251Q1 as a substitute for SN65HVD251Q1.

I'll share this information with the customer.

I appreciate your great help and cooperation.

    Best regards,

    Shinichi
