DS160PR412: Support of 2 independent PCIe Links ?

In our PCIe Gen4 application, we want to use the DS160PR412 and DS160PR421.

Is it possible to use 2 lanes of the chip for one PCIe Link and the remaining 2 lanes for a different independent PCIe link ?

So for example with 1x DS160PR412 and 1x DS160PR421, could we have

PCIe link #1: Gen4 x2(2 lanes)
PCIe link #2: Gen2 x2(2 lanes)

If yes, do we need to consider specific points, e.g. will the RX_Detect work ?

Hi Michael,

This is possible since each link RX detect is independent of the next channel or link RX detect.

However, to restart RX detect procedure, we need to pulse PD pin. There is one PD pin that controls 4 channels. So to restart RX detect these are related to one another. Typically we connect PERST# - after negation - to PD pin. If these channels use the same PERST# then i believe this should be fine. Please also note through register you can control each individual channel RX detect procedure.

Other than RX detect, you may need to tune CTLE for these channels different from one another.
