TMUXHS4212: Issues when using TMUXHS4212 in FPD-Link III switching application

Part Number: TMUXHS4212
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB949-Q1, DS90UB948-Q1,

Greetings,

as you can see in the related question we are having issues with switching an FPD-Link III Signal between a DS90UB949-Q1, another FPD-Link III source and the FPD-Link sink, in this case a DS90UB948-Q1.

As shown per image below the FPD-Link III sources and the sink are connected through a TMUXHS4212 mux. The problem we are facing is that the mux won't allow us to get the FPD-Link III sink to lock to any of the FPD-Link III sources. Removing the mux and bridging one of the connections immediately resolves this issue.

A first attempt to fix this issue was to add biasing resistors on the single port end of the mux, as suggested in the datasheet, since in FPD-Link III applications you generally have coupling capacitors on the sink and source side. Sadly this did not give us a different result.

My question to you would now be if we have to pay attention to anything in specific when using the TMUXHS4212 in FPD-Link III switching applications, or if you have another idea where this issue could stem from.
