DS110DF111: Register setting for InGress and Egress of DFP+

Part Number: DS110DF111
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS100DF410, DS110DF410, DS125DF410, DS125DF111

Hi Team,

Please advise me on my question bellow.

I will use DS110DF111 in 1G/10 G Base Ethernet with SFP+ module.

The register setup procedures are stated in the Table 7. 10.3125-Gbps
Front-Port Ingress Configuration Sequence and the Table 8. 10.3125-Gbps
Front-Port Egress Configuration Sequence on a document SNLA323–March 2019,
“DS110DF111, DS125DF111, DS100DF410, DS110DF410, and DS125DF410
Programming Guide”.
I did not find any description in the register 0x60 through 0x64 on this document.

In the meantime, I suspect that the register from 0x60 through 0x64 may be needed to
program values such as 0x00, 0xb2, 0x90, 0xB3, 0xCD corresponding to the 1.25 Gbps
and 10.3125 Gbps.
Can the register address 0x60 to 0x64 be left as the default (0x00s)?

Mita

  • Hi Mita,

You can leave registers 0x60 through 0x64 as default since you are using the device for 1.25 Gbps and 10.3125 Gbps.  For common data rates, the device can be configured through register 0x2F[7:4].  I've included a table from the DS110DF410 which may be useful for reference, although the default register value for the DS110DF111 should be sufficient for your use case.  Registers 0x60-0x64 are primarily used when configuring the CDR to lock to custom data rate.

    Thanks,

    Drew

  • Drew-san,

    Thank you for the answer.

    I have gotten it.
