Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0344
We have a requirement to buffer a 50R single-ended PCB SDI signal into a 75R single-ended SDI signal suitable for coaxial cable drive. The goal is for there not to be any changes in signal characteristics, most importantly with respect to rise/fall times and jitter as the output will be used to assess the performance of the original signal. Ideally there would be about 2.353x gain as well, but this can also be dealt with in software further downstream.
There appear to be few if any opamp options that can provide this type of performance (frequency plus cable drive capability). Another post suggests that the LMH0302 can be used as a buffer however the output amplitude appears to be controlled independent of the incoming signal (set by Rref), so some signal conditioning appears to take place internally.
Can the LMH0302 be configured to operate as a buffer across impedance domains as described above? What sort of considerations need to be made to do so? Are there any better alternative opamps or SDI cable driver ICs that should be considered in this application?
