TCAN1167-Q1: WAKE pin

In the circuit described in the data sheet, a limiting resistor of 33kΩ is connected to the WAKE terminal, and a capacitor of 0.1nF is connected in parallel with the SW. Could you tell us the role of these two points? I want to reduce the number of parts as much as possible, so I want to make it unmounted (resistor is short, capacitor is open), but I want to check if it is possible, so please tell me the role.

    All of the circuitry shown around the WAKE pin in this example are to facilitate the use of a push-button type input. The highlighted resistor and capacitor are used for filtering and current limiting the input signal from this push button to the WAKE pin. If the source of this WAKE signal is cleaner and does not need to be debounced or filtered, these passive components can be omitted. If the local wake functionality is not used, the WAKE pin can be safely tied to Vsup or GND without any external components.
