TCA9406: Functionality verification given a powered off I2C module and live I2C tree

Part Number: TCA9406

Hi,

I'm checking that this part will be able to be used in my customer's application.

Currently they have an I2C module which is connected to an I2C tree. However, they are turning off power to that module in order to prevent it from misbehaving. They've previously experienced problems with I2C devices that were powered off when connected to a live tree.

Is the TCA9406DUR capable of handling this situation with expected functionality? Where the slave I2C device is powered off inside our PCB circuit without affecting the rest of the I2C tree? If not, is there an alternative part recommendation?

(Vcca and Vccb will both be at 3.3V but Vccb will occasionally be off)

Thank you,

Abigail
