DS250DF410: Question about DS250DF410

Part Number: DS250DF410

Hello:

My customer uses the port of ds250df410 and needs to support the port rate of 1.25g. Look at the description of datasheet and need to disable CDR mode. customer can't find the corresponding operation on datasheet and programming guide. Do you have corresponding documents or instructions? thank you.

  • Hi Jimmy,

This is called RAW mode in the data sheet. To enable RAW mode, reg 0x09[5]=1'b1 and reg 0x1E[7:5]=3'b000.

    Regards,Nasser

  • Hi,

This info is captured in the programming guide, on the section describing retimer output mode configuration when CDR is unlocked. For 1.25G you would need to configure the retimer for CDR bypass raw data mode when the CDR is unlocked. I've included the info below for ease of reference.

6.35   Select Output Mode when CDR is Locked

By default, the DS2x0DFx10 outputs retimed data when the CDR is locked. The DS2x0DFx10 can optionally be configured to output raw, un-retimed data or mute when the CDR is in lock.

  • Hi Jimmy. The info from Nasser's email applies to the older 10G retimers. Refer to my reply for configuration applicable to DS250DF410; we do not want to write to 0x09 on DS250DF410.

    Thanks,

    Rodrigo
