DS25BR440: EQn pin default status and ESD

Part Number: DS25BR440

Hi team, 

My customer have two application questions for our part DS25BR440.

Q1: External ESD diode

In our d/s, our DS25BR440 has ESD protects feature, if there is any needs customer to add external ESD diode at these I/O pins?

Q2: control pin default status

Customer want to confirm the default state of these PEn and EQn pin?

could you pls give some comments based on these two questions.

    Hi Mia,

    1). If 8 KV ESD meets customer requirement then there is no need for additional need for external ESD component. Otherwise, customer may need to add additional low parasitic ESD protection component. 

    2). Pre-emphasis and receive equalization settings are LVCMOS two level signals. So this depends on the state of these two signals at power up.
