DS90UB936-Q1: VDD Supply related

Part Number: DS90UB936-Q1

Hi Expert,

We found that there have VDD18_CSI, VDD11_CSI, VDD18_FPD0, VDD11_FPD0 pins on 936. I am confused that which functional block these pins are powered?

  • For the voltage level of MIPI CSI-2 port, Does it come from VDD18_CSI or VDD11_CSI?
  • What is the difference between VDD18_FPD0 and VDD11_FPD0?

Thanks!

Ethan Wen

  • Hi Ethan,

Thank you for your question. The function of these pins is related to the VDD_SEL pin (pin description included below). When VDD_SEL is low an internal 1.1 V supply is used for the internal LDO regulator. When VDD_SEL is high an external 1.1 V supply is used for the internal LDO regulator.

VDD18_CSI and VDD18_FPD serve as the power supplies and VDD11_CSI and VDD11_FPD serve as the connection for the internal regulator supply. The specific connection that occurs at pins VDD11_CSI and VDD11_FPD depend on the VDD_SEL pin setting.

  • Hi Darrah,

    Thanks for your reply.

I can understand the VDD_SEL function. But I would like to understand which functional block powered from these pins?

Both VDD18 and VDD11 are required for 936, so for the voltage level of MIPI CSI-2 port signal, does it come from VDD18_CSI or VDD11_CSI(1.8V or 1.1V)?

The reason I ask is that customer's MCU MIPI CSI port signal is 1.09V~1.2V.

  • Hi Ethan,

VDD11 and VDD18 do not necessarily power an isolated block/port. I think what you are looking for is the expected port output values, which are actually defined in the DC electrical characteristics section of the datasheet. A typical output value is 1.2V. I've included a screenshot for you below, but all other min/max values can be found in section 6.5 of the datasheet.
