SN65HVD3082E: About the tolerance of SN65HVD3082EDR package pin pitch dimensions.

Part Number: SN65HVD3082E

Hello guys,

One of my customers is going to use SN65HVD3082EDR for their new products.

At this moment, they have the following question. Could you please give me your reply?

Q. On the package(SOIC, D package) dimension figure, the tolerance of the package pin pitch dimensions are not shown.
     Those are  just "6X 0.050[1.27]" and "2X0.150[3.81].
     1. Do you have tolerance data of D package pin pitch?
     2. Why are those tolerance not shown?

Your reply would be much appreciated.

Best regards,
Kazuya.

  • This dimension is normally so exact and consistent that no tolerances are assigned to it. The JEDEC MS-012 does not specify tolerances either.

  • Hi Kazuya,

Clemens is correct - the pitch of parts is one of the most consistent size metrics and isn't part of the JEDEC MS-012 standard.

I will reach out to our packaging team and see if we have tolerance value (I hope to get an answer within the next 24-48 hours - but I will update with a status to let you know progress). I don't know if we take the value, but I will double check for you.

    Best,

    Parker Dodson

  • Hello Parker, Clemens,

Thank you very much for your reply and your kindness.

I hope that you have any data about the pin pitch tolerance and I'm looking forward to receive your update.

Thank you again and best regards,
    Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya,

So I heard back from our packaging team and it looks like we don't have pitch tolerance. The reason being, beyond what was pointed out by Clemens, is that in SMT applications the tolerance for the pitch isn't considered critical - this is based on the standards and in general very low variability with the pitch. So there is a small variation possible most likely but it's not considered critical in SMT applications with all the other dimensions listed.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

    Best,

    Parker Dodson
