DP83TC812R-Q1: Can 812R and DP83848Q-Q1 share the same MAC?

I am having trouble understanding the intent here. Do you want to have two PHYs connected to 1 MAC at the same time? Or create a design that allows for reworking a board with the other PHY? Please share a block diagram of what you are thinking.

Hi David,

Yes the customer use RH850 MCU and it only has one MAC. But they need to use two PHY. Is there a way to achieve this? Thanks.

Hi Elec,

This is not possible. A MAC interface will only support one PHY at a time. The DP83TC812 and DP83848 have very different packages and pinouts that will require a separate design for each one.
