TCAN1046-Q1: What is height of Chipset "TCAN1046DMTRQ1"?

Hi Team,

We are planning to use CAN Transceiver "TCAN1046DMTRQ1" and we need information related to package height. It would be great if you can help us.

Below are the two package heights available - 0.9mm and 1mm. Let us know which should be consider.

Please go with the DMT0014B drawing. Also, I would recommend moving to the TCAN1046A-Q1 rather than the TCAN1046-Q1.

For our design, we are looking for a CAN Transceiver which supports both 1.8V and 3.3V IO Level at TXD and RXD. This requirement is satisfied with "TCAN1046-Q1". But from datasheet of "TCAN1046A-Q1", it seems only 5V IO Level is supported.

It would be good if you can share a comparison or pros-cons list between both the parts. It would help us make a right decision.

Purvi,

The device you'll need is the TCAN1046AV-Q1. This is a dual CAN transceiver that supports VIO voltages down to 1.8V.

Hi Eric,

We have a concern with "TCAN1046-Q1". Referring to datasheet of "TCAN1046-Q1", it seems it has only one power pin i.e VCC and as per electrical characteristics, supply between 4.5V and 5.5V is expected. Even the VIH,VOH parameter on TXD and RXD is measured w.r.t VCC.

Then how does "TCAN1046-Q1" support 1.8V and 3.3V IO Level?

Purvi,

The versions of these devices with V at the end are what support the different IO voltage levels. The non-V versions only support 5V IO levels.

As per following statement, we understood 1.8V and 3.3V IO Level is supported by TCAN1046-Q1.

Now we will plan to use "TCAN1046AVDRQ1".
