Hi,
I'm using RS-422 transceiver part number SN65C1168E-SEP. Should the PCB trace impedance be 100-ohm or 120-ohm differential?

The transceiver itself does not care.
What matters is that the termination resistor should have the same resistance as the cable's or trace's characteristic impedance.
Hi Briana,
RS-422 uses 100 Ohm termination - so the trace impedance should also be 100 Ohms to prevent reflections. Clemens is correct by saying the transceiver itself doesn't really care.
