Hi team,

I see recommended in the datasheet to connect the VSON thermal pad to the PCB GND plane. Is there an electrical connection within the device between the thermal pad and GND1 and/or GND2?

    Hi Jacob,

    There is no internal connection between the thermal pad and GND. The thermal pad is there to help dissipate heat away from the chip. So we recommend connecting it to GND because usually this is the largest copper pour on a PCB and around your chip. You can connect it to another layer of copper if you like or even leave it floating.

    This will just help keep your junction temperature down.
