DP83822EVM: 100base-FX on the DP83822 evm.

Hi,

regarding the idea of using the DP83822, I see that the evm is ready to mount an SFP connector+frame to experiment with the 100base-FX (fiber).

There is a list of components to remove/add, described in the EVM user guide.

But the most impostant point is that the device equipped is the DP83822RHBR (as listed in the BOM): which has no support for the fiber optic interface (only available in -IF or -HF derivatives).

In my opinion also the PHY should be substituted with one of those.

Do you agree?

This is correct. A fiber compatible PHY must be used in this case if the desired use case is fiber.

I've an update, I received today the DP83822EVM (from Mouser) - rev 2.0.

Contrary to what was written on the schematic, the PHY soldered on the board has device marking 822HF, which correspond to 83822HF, the one with fiber optic support.

Much better for me, I'll save the time to substitute.
