SN75176B: difference between SN75176A and SN75176B

Part Number: SN75176B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65176B

Hello Expert,

I found a related E2E thread as below link.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface-group/interface/f/interface-forum/765303/sn75176b-difference-between-sn75176a-and-sn75176b?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=SN75176A%2520SN75176b#

https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface-group/interface/f/interface-forum/148598/rs485-driver-75176b-vs-sn75176a?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=SN75176A%2525252520SN75176b#

But there is no comparison table.

Our customer want to see comparison table about only difference between A and B.

Could you please send it to me asap?

Thanks and Best regards,

Michael

  • Hi Michael,

So those E2E's are not 100% correct - the temperature is the same for both the A and B versions of the SN75176x (SN65176B has a wider temperature range)

The main difference is the switching speeds - as noted in the other posts -> please see below:

    "A" device

    "B" Device

So the difference is really in the driver's switching characteristics as the "A" has a slower driver than the "B" device. This is the main difference between the devices as the electrical characteristics are very similar.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

    Best,

    Parker Dodson
