Hi,

I am using two SATA III ports for two different SSD 

SATA III signal is routed via FR4 

one SATA III port routed for the length of 5 inches and connected to SSD via redriver second SATA III port routed for the length of 5 inches and using flex cable (16 inches) connected to another SSD via redriver

please suggest the Equalizer and De-emphasis configuration settings

    Hi Ramya,

    Suggestion is to fist start with 0dB de-emphasis and lowest VOD(data sheet table 3 level 1). Then start with the lowest equalization settings(table 2 level 1) and increase equalization level - one step at a time - as needed. This procedure can be used for both FR4 and flex cable. In some cases you may need to add de-emphasis(table 3 level 2 or 3) but we should try to stay on the lowest VOD(level 1). This will prevent over-equalization and simplifies tuning of the equalizers.
