Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65MLVD205A, SN65MLVD202A
Hi team,
What is the upgraded replacement of SN65LVDM180 with better cost?
Should it be SN65MLVD205A or SN65MLVD202A?
Regards,
Itoh

Hello Itoh,
For cost comparison, the SN65MLVD205A is $1.173 / 1k units and the SN65MLVD202A is $1.144 / 1k unit.
Both of these parts are an upgrade to the SN65LVDM180. The main difference between the 205A and 202A is the Receiver Type. The 202A has a Type 1 receiver while the 205A has a Type 2 receiver.
What that means is the input threshold that's needed to set the output High or Low. More information can be found on Section 10.2.2.7 of the SN65MLVD205A datasheet.
If using the SN65LVDM180, then the SN65LVD202A would be a good replacement since both have similar input differential voltage thresholds.

Josh
