SN65HVD1050-EP: The device easy damage with unknow issue.

Hi Team,

My customer uses SN65HVD1050MDREP to replace other competitors. Due to the old design, they need to use pin5 as ref output.

But during testing time pin4 and pin5 were easily damaged. Is there any other scheme that also uses pin5 as a reference voltage output

BTW I saw SN65HVD1050MDREP has some description in the P1~P2 datasheet. In the specifications of other grades and did not see such a description

what does that mean?

    Jimmy,

    That's a standard disclaimer about ESD and device sensitivity that applies to all devices.

    Why are the RXD and Vref experiencing damage? Are there aspects of the customer design that are particularly straining for these pins?

    Also, is an enhanced product rating required for the customer's application?
