DP83TG720S-Q1: Remote wakeup by using Send-T

Part Number: DP83TG720S-Q1

Hi all,

According to datasheet, it is mentioned that the link partner should set some registers:

reg[0x0405], reg[0x0509] and reg[0x0576]

1- According to the register map section, reg[0x0405] is used to control the DAC current of LD and hence the swing, is that correct?

2- Registers [0x0509] and [0x0576] are not mentioned anywhere else in datasheet, should i access them?

3- What does Registers [0x0509] and [0x0576] do actually?

  • Hi Ahmed,

Register 0x405 is used to change the swing of the output. In order to have a reliable wake-up across all cable lengths, we increase the swing of the SEND_T temporarily.

Registers 0x0509 and 0x0576 are internal state machine registers to bypass SEND_S and transmit SEND_T. Since these are internal registers, the description is hidden from datasheet.
