There is no single device for this.

You have to combine an RS-232 and an RS-485 transceiver. The RS-232 protocol does not give you a mechanism to control the RS-485's transmitter's DE input, so you have to use a transceiver with auto-direction control (THVD1406/THVD1426).

Clemens is correct, but TI is developing a multiprotocol device that is set to release later this year. What is the timeline on the customer's project?
