Hello,

I am Using DS16EV5110SQ in my project as a Source side HDMI Booster.

In that , I have queries as below,

i. Shall I use DS16EV5110SQ at source side  to  improve the video quality. (Becouse, I dont have any details about sink side (i.e distance, cable, Monitor details))

ii. Is it ESD protection circuit is required at Output side of  DS16EV5110SQ.

    Greetings,

    DS16EV5110 is recommended for the sink side. This is because input is tied to VDD through 50-ohm R per HDMI requirement - please note figure 11 of the data sheet.

    Typically if output is exposed to external environment and there is a possibility of ESD even - i.e user connected a cable - then ESD may be required. However, since this part is used on sink side, it means the output goes to an FPGA or ASIC. In this case, there is no need for ESD protection.
