TCAN1463-Q1: IIO(wake) current

Part Number: TCAN1463-Q1

Hello Eric,

the TCAN1463-Q1 datasheet mention on page 31 how to calculate the series resistor for the wake pin.

RSERIES is calculated using: RSERIES = VSUPMAX / IIO(WAKE)

IIO(WAKE) is not specified in the datasheet with max data only..

Using the 33k from the application circuit I calculate approx 1.36mA.

Will this drawn from the battery all the time?

Thanks

Martin

  • As shown below equation 3, IIO(WAKE) is 3 mA.

The WAKE pin is a high-impedance CMOS input; the series resistor is needed only when the voltage exceeds the valid input voltage limits.

  • Hi Martin,

I agree with Clemens' response here. If you continue just past page 31 on the top of page 32, you can see that VSUPMAX = 45V, IIO(WAKE) = 3mA which yields a series RSERIES value of 15 kohm minimum.

The Wake pin on this device is a high-impedance CMOS input. The current dissipation from this pin would be a small amount of leakage +/- 3uA.

    Regards,

    Tyler
