TCA6416A: Datasheet change.

Hi team,

I'd like to know about the powerup sequence.
The following wording has been added in accordance with the changes in the datasheet.

"Ramping up the device VCCP before VCCI is recommended to prevent SDA from potentially being stuck LOW."

If this sequence is not followed, does the stack LOW continue until the power is turned off?
And, is there any way to clear the stack LOW than turning off the power?

Sincerely.
Kengo.

  • Hi Kengo,

Every instance we've seen with SDA getting stuck low resolved itself after both power rails go up (when Vcci and Vccp are powered). The concern is when only Vcci is powered and Vccp is unpowered, then SDA could get stuck low until Vccp powers up.

If you are worried, you could also toggle the #RESET pin after both rails go up as well.
