Part Number: SN55115
I’m hoping that you can clarify a question that came up with the SNJ55115FK differential receivers. Is it okay for the positive input B and negative input A to have a peak differential voltage of 5Vpk between them?
thanks - Joey

HI Joey,
So this device doesn't specify a differential input voltage max - but it does specify input voltage maximums - which are well above 5V. Based on the data that we do have there should be low risk when looking at the 5V VID alone.
That being said - higher differential voltages - especially across the integrated termination - are going to increase the power consumption of the device - so it could potentially add the issue of violating the power ratings - but that will depend on the direct application - please see the table on the top of pg. 4 of the datasheet to verify power ratings as well as temperature derating.
Best,
Parker Dodson
