Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM2900,
Hello,
I am having issues bringing up a USB hub PCBA using a TUBS8044A.
These boards worked initially, but they produced errors after some time. I have been chasing this issue for two weeks now, but it has been hard to track down the root cause due to the inconsistency.
I am seeing three different issues on three other computers.
- Observed Issue #1
- The hub in plugged into a Windows 10 computer.
- An error message is observed - "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) - A USB port reset request failed."
- When viewed in the device manager - ""Problem code" - Value Code "00000028"
- After this error is displayed, a USB2 device (TI PCM2900 Audio Codec) still functions, but other USB devices are not enumerated.
- I have tried to uninstall the drivers and reinstall them, with no effect.
- I have tried using a USB2 instead of a USB3 cable, but the same issue occurs.
- Observed Issue #2
- The hub PCB is plugged into a different Windows 10 computer.
- No errors/warnings are observed in the device manager.
- The device will constantly reconnect in the device manager.
- I have tried disabling USB sleep across the system, but the issue persists.
- Observed Issue #3
- The hub PCB is plugged into a Macbook Laptop
- No errors or warnings are observed.
- The USB2 audio codec (PCM2900) enumerates.
- A flash drive (functional/tested) is connected, but when navigated through "Finder" the flash drive acts like a read-only device.
- Other Observed Issues - Inconsistent
- The board will not work with USB 3 devices connected, but it will with USB2 devices.
- The board will work with USB3 devices but only support USB2 speeds.
