TCAN1043A-Q1: Possibility of nFAULT = L and RXD = H in Standby Mode

Part Number: TCAN1043A-Q1

Hello, Team,

Sorry to ask a simple question.

From the datasheet Table 8-1, it is stated that nFAULT pin only shows WAKERQ FLAG during the Standby Mode.

  1. Is it possible that nFAULT = L and RXD = H happens in a Standby Mode?
  2. If yes, in what cases does this occur?

Thank You and Best Regards,
Masaru Oinaga

  • Hi Oinaga-san,

This is not a possible case for Standby mode. Both nFAULT and RXD will be High if there has not been a wake-up request and VIO>UVIO in Standby mode. (If VIO not present that lead to VIO<UVIO , RXD will go High impedance)

Once a wake-up request (WAKERQ) received, nFAULT and RXD will go low.

But nFAULT can be low in Normal mode for a few causes. In this state, RXD will be mirroring the bus state so it is possible RXD is high while nFAULT is low.

    Regards,

    Sean Guo
