DS90UB954-Q1EVM: FPD Pi raspivid

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1EVM

We are trying to configure FPD (V3Link) for a Pi HQ camera.

In the near term our setup is to operate at 720 30 fps, with raspivid.

roadmap: In the future we would like to operate at 1080 60 fps, with libcamera

Priority: I have read that raspivid does not work well with FPD link, however I do not know the alleged reason. Is there any reason to expect this to be the case? I am reading about this low latency and automatic ack's that can be configured for I2C, so I am hopeful it will work. Does anyone have any relevant information? Perhaps we could use the microcontroller that is local to the camera to initialize it over I2C and let the MIPI data go to the ISP.

In an attempt to address the above concern (and establish the configuration for production) I am working with the 953/4 EVMs. We build two daughter boards to convert the CSI2 signals to the typical pi 15pos 1mm FFC. Unfortunately the serializer daughterboard had some interference so instead we have rework jumpers hitting the testpoints on the bottom side of the 953 EVM. It is my hope that the relatively short stub (~5mm, from via to connector pad), operating at 400 Mbps and the short rework lead (~5mm, from via to reworked 15mm ffc) will be tolerated.

Thanks, I will post my detailed EVM setup questions tomorrow.
