DS90UB954-Q1: The behaviour of the PDB(RESET)

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Hi Team,

I would like to be informed about the signal waveform of RESET.

In the PDB pin, the software is designed to ensure a High time of 1 ms and a Low time of 2 ms when returning from RESET.
(This refers to T7 and T8 in the data sheet.)
In short, you have misinterpreted the data sheet.

Question 1.
See attached waveforms.
In the case of this waveform, would the operation be RESET → normal operation → RESET?
Or is the High time of 1 ms skipped and RESET continued?

Question 2
Is there a problem if the software is not changed with the attached waveform?

Question 3
In the software settings, the High time is set to 1 ms and the Low time to 2 ms, so the waveform is blurred and shorter than the set time due to the filter in the circuit.
Is it correct to understand that if the High time of 1 ms and Low time of 2 ms cannot be met, the waveform will not be valid and will be skipped?

Best Regards,

Masanori

  • Hello Masanori,

    Question 1.
    See attached waveforms.
In the case of this waveform, would the operation be RESET → normal operation → RESET?
Or is the High time of 1 ms skipped and RESET continued?

min 1ms PDB high will put the device in operation mode. So yes, this will be considered as RESET --> Operation --> RESET.

    Question 2
Is there a problem if the software is not changed with the attached waveform?

If you keep the PDB high time to min 1ms or above before resetting, then there should be no problem.

I am not sure I understood the question. But if you do not fulfill either the Low or High times, then the device may have some unknown operation issue.

  • Hi Hamzeh,

    Sorry for the late reply.
    Thank you for your response.
Now that I understand, I will close this question.
