DP83822I: switch from MII to RMII interface

Part Number: DP83822I

Hi Team,

can you help with the question below, thanks?

We want to use the PHY DP83822 from TI in combination with a STM32F765NIH6, but no longer in MII mode as before but in RMII.

The data sheet shows that RMII must be activated via bootstrap resistors at the RX-DV pin.

Since the previous design (MII) ran with an input clock (XI) of 25MHz, I would now enable the "RMII-25MHz Reference Clock" mode via the resistors.

However, the IO MUX GPIO Control Register (IOCTRL) describes that with "RMII Master Mode" the Reference Clock is 50MHz.

Now the question arises, which configuration is now the correct one and how to activate it correctly.

50MHz Reference Clock Master Mode or 25MHz Reference Clock (Slave) Mode?

And possibly other requirements & circuits which are necessary for the RMII mode?

Kind regards

Jan
