Can this PHY be configured to output 100Base-TX compliance test patterns?

    Hi Mansoor,

    DP83848 do not have a compliance test register but it has an internal Built-in Self Test (BIST) circuit to accommodate in-circuit testing or diagnostics. You can connect a link partner to the test fixture that can generate the compliance test patterns to test the compliance of DP83848.

    Hi Rahul,

    Thanks for the response. Is there an example showing the connection mechanism with a link partner, i.e. explaining the probing locations when there is a link partner connected, and what should the link partner generate, as well as what should the DUT (DP83848 based device) generate on interface?

    Hi Mansoor,

    We have a compliance document for DP83822, please use this as reference. Also, please use the BIST functionality to generate packets for compliance and share your feedback.

    I think that doesn't apply since 83822 has built-in test mode selector engine. Screenshot from datasheet is below.

    Hi Mansoor,

    Yes, you are correct that DP83822 has all the features mentioned.

    We do not have an EVM currently in house to test this out, that is that reason I am requesting you to check if you test it our end. Do you have a test board with DP83848?
