TUSB1104: When implementing a USB 3.x signal redriver, total how much cable length we can have before redriver and after redriver for USB 3.X

Is this USB 3.1 Gen 1 5G or Gen 2 10G? 

Are you planning to have USB Type-C receptacle at both ends of design? And are the 2m and 5m cable standard USB Type-C cable or proprietary cable?

Hi David,

Our speed is 10G. gen 2. Yes, we are placing Type C receptable at both end

Arrangement is like We have Host processor at rear end of vehicle and then 5-6 meter cable will run till  front of driver  till USB type C connector and then user may have charging and data transfer cable of 1-1.5 meter.

Our actual requirement to have total around 7 meter from host if we place redrive at host side. As i am doubtful of that so i am prosing above solution of keeping Redriver at destination (Type c connector) Infront of driver seat.

With USB-C receptacle at each end, this would suggest the 5m USB-C cable is a active cable that may have a retimer or redriver inside, is this the case? Can you provide more detail on the cable?

i am not sure if we should use this cable for automotive application.  USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C Active Cable (bizlinktech.com) 

But we want to have suggestion form your side on cable selection for 5 meter for automotive application.
