DS90UB954-Q1EVM: EVM detected but DESER showing incorrect address and null registers

Hi,

I recently bought a DS90UB954-EVM to do some margin testing on my link. However, when I plugged it in for the first time, I am unable to see the correct I2C address on info tab, and cannot see any proper register values in the register space. Please see screenshot below.

The board is in its untouched default state, with no jumpers modified, and just a USB cable connected (i.e. no remote devices etc.)

Could you please help?

Attached below is the 954 EVM User Guide. Can you confirm that the jumper configurations match what is shown in figure 4-1? What power supply is being used?

Hi Anthony,

I confirmed that my EVM is configured identically to the default config in the aforementioned figure. I am using a 12V 3A supply over J1. Your question about the power supply made me suspect the connector for J1, which was a bit janky.

Happy to report things work as intended now :)
