DP83848Q-Q1: 100BASE-TX compliance test

Hi team,

Our customer found the the thread about the 100BASE-TX compliance test on DP83848Q-Q1 and they think BIST can be used for compliance test.

But I cannot find the way to use BIST on DP83848Q-Q1 for compliance test in datasheet. Is that correct ?
And are there any ways that DP83848Q-Q1 can output waveform for compliance test of 100BASE-TX ?

    Hi Morita,

    BIST is not required for compliance testing. For 100Base-TX testing, simply force the device into 100Mbps mode to generate MLT idle symbols and the test scope will extract the required patterns. This can be done in register 0x0000 by setting bit[12] to 0 and bit[13] to 1.
