Hi team,
please recommend a LVDS serdes solution that can support 1920x1080 60Hz,
SN65LVDS93B obviously can't support, right?

Hi Fred,
You are correct - the SNL65LVDS93B does not meet the PCLK requirements of the display resolution listed above.
The SN65LVDS93A should be able to meet your needs. It supports a PCLK of up to 135 MHz and the display you are referring to has a PCLK of 1920*1080*60=124.4 MHz. Since 135>124.4, the SN65LVDS93A should be sufficient.

Nikolas
Hi Nokolas,
we need to consider the blanking as well,
in that case , can we support it?
Hello,
Thank you for sharing the blanking numbers. Yes, the SN65LVDS93A is supported. The PCLK is 134.7MHz when directly factoring in blanking into the calculations, and 135>134.7.
Best,
Nikolas
Hi Nikolas,
would you share your blanking calculation that how does 134.7MHz come from?
see customer calculation is 140.8MHz
Hello,
Apologies for any confusion - calculation was done on the basis of the listed1920*1080 display listed in the original body of this thread. Customer's calculation is correct assuming that horizontal blanking pixels of the 960*1080 display are exactly double for a 1920x1080 display. Note that this may not always be the case and it is best to get the exact video timings for the particular video display in question.
With that in mind, the DS90C189-Q1 would have a PCLK of 185 MHz, which should meet the PCLK requirements of the system.
Best,
Nikolas
Hi Nikolas,
customer is curious if they can use two LVDS output to deliver above pixel frame to reduce the frequency of PCLK, so they can use two SN65LVDS93A for each output to solve this.
Hi Fred,
Could you possibly clarify what the customer is inquiring about? I am not too sure if I am following the thought process. Are they proposing a setup with two SN65LVDS93A serializers but still having only one 1920x1080 display?
Best,
Nikolas
