FPD LINK-Suggestion needed: SerDes application for one camera send video to 2 ECU

Hi, Support team

I'm currently investigating an application that one camera provide the video steaming for 2 ECU for redundancy purpose. If ECU 1 is fail, it can still streaming video to ECU 2.

Do you have any suggestion on products could support this?

  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out. The replicate mode of our deserializers would be a good option to support this application.

The DS90UB960 deserializer has two CSI output ports with the second port having the ability to output a replicated copy of the first port. This means that each ECU would be connected to its own CSI port and receive identical data. Alternatively, if the chosen camera has a lower bandwidth, the DS90UB954 deserializer can also operate in replicate mode to generate two identical streams of data. However, since the DS90UB954 only has one CSI port the 4-lane port will be split into two 2-lane ports each with their own clock. Since only 2 data lanes will be available, only lower bandwidth applications are supported.

If you have already chosen a camera and know what bandwidth the application needs to support, I can help determine which deserializer and partner serializer would be appropriate.
