TIDA-010262: PHY solution for IEEE802.3da

Part Number: TIDA-010262
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83TD510E

Hi expert,

Customer is looking for PHY solution for PoDL based on 802.3da. We find a similar reference design TIDA-010262 but it supports IEEE802.3cg.

May I know if we can still use DP83DT510 or any other solutions?

Thanks,

Allan

  • Hi Allan,

    Thanks for your question.

You are right, DP83TD510 supports IEEE802.cg, which is also referred to T1L (10Mbps). The DP83RD510 device does not support IEEE802.da, which is also referred to as T1S (10Mbps).

For getting information about a Ethernet PHY device that supports T1S, please contact the Ethernet product line.

    Thank you and best regards,

     Thomas

  • Hi Thomas,

    Thanks.

    Hi PHY experts,

May I have your help to advise what solution is recommended for  IEEE802.da?

    Thanks,

    Allan

  • Hi Allan,

our DP83TD510E PHY is designed to support 10 BASE-T1L, as specified in 802.3cg. Together with some components we can support PoDL as well. However no multidrop is supported. PoDL with multidrop is a different story and as far as I know still in discussion and not finalized yet.

Feel free to contact me through Email for further discussion.

    Best regards,

    Steffen
