TCAN4550-Q1: OS support

Part Number: TCAN4550-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN4550

Hi team,

Regarding TCAN4550-Q1, is this devise supported by Windows OS? If yes, can we find Windows driver in ti.com?

Regards,

Takashi Shinde

  • Hi Takashi,

The TCAN4550-Q1 operates on the physical (hardware) layer through a SPI bus interface that typically is from a microcontroller or microprocessor.  The TCAN4550 does not directly operate with any OS which would instead need to operate the device that contains the SPI drivers.  I am unaware of any drivers that have been developed for any hardware running Windows OS.

We do have generic ANSI-C starter code containing all of the register maps and basic configuration functions that can be used as a starting point for software development.  The SPI functions would need to be modified for the specific MCU in your application, but the TCAN4550 specific functions should work as-is.

You can find additional information in the TCAN45xx Software User's Guide (Link) as well as the TCAN4550 Demo Software (starter code) (Link) for download on the TCAN4550-Q1 Product Folder (Link).

    Regards,

    Jonathan
