Hello,

I finally found out why my custom board is working bad, and the reason is because my supplier used a PCF8575C instead of a PCF8575.

But the real struggle was to find out that the PCF8575C is like not existing anymore.

The Texas Instruments web page http://www.ti.com/product/PCF8575C is unreachable, only through web archive, and the datasheet is unaviable even by a research on google

Why is that? What append with the PCF8575C?

The only difference between the PCF8585 and the PCF8575C is that the latter does not have internal 100 µA pull-ups.

The PCF8575C was discontinued when production moved from 150 mm to 300 mm wafers (PDN 20230503002.3).

Hi Stefano,

Clemen's is correct. The C version does not have the internal current source during input mode.

I've attached the latest version of the datasheet I could find in our internal data base (see below)

I find the fact that the PCF8575C was completely removed from the Internet pretty unfair, making it harder to find answer on old Texas In products.

But with that said, I resolved my issue.
