DP149RSBEVM: Issue of Eyescan tool

Hi,

The DP149 retimer is automatically activated at pixel clock above approximately 100-MHz when jitter cleaning is needed for robust operation. The retimer operates at about 1.0 to 3.4-Gbps DR supporting HDMI1.4b[3]. At pixel clock frequency below about 100 MHz, the SNx5DP149 automatically bypasses the internal retimer and operates as a redriver.

The EyeScan will only work when in re-timer mode, it will not work in re-driver mode. From the Eyescan_setting.pdf, it looks like the DP149 is in re-driver mode, so the EyeScan function will not be supported.

4C/4D register values are changed when equalizer level is changed like page 3 of attachment. Please let me know the reason why.

Page 3 of the attachment is a graphic view of Page 1 register 0x4C and 0x4D. When you are changing these values, they will be be reflected in Page 1 register 0x4C and 0x4D.

Hi David,

There are no data of Page 1 registers in the datasheet. Are these registers hidden ones?

Also, there are issues below on EVM they have. Please check and let me know.

1. There are lane0/1/2 on EyeScan settings of EyeScan tool. I think that lane0/1/2 are matched with IN_D0/D1/D2(Pin7 to Pin1) of SN75DP149. Is it correct?

2. HDMI RX connection : Customer changed input source from DP to HDMI and they connected EVM to PC's HDMI, but there is no display output. Is there additional setup for EDID communication with PC?

Yes these are hidden registers for internal testing.
